BCATC HOSA students hit high marks!!!

BCATC Learning Community,

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday April 17-19, 2016 HOSA students from the BCATC attended and competed at the state leadership conference in Louisville, KY. Our students competed in a wide variety of health related events and many performed at the highest levels. Here is a list of our

BCATC winners:

Lyndsey Armes – Ann Vesio Scholarship winner

Yoshi Lindsey – 3rd place Research Persuasive Speaking

Mason Chandler – 2nd place Human Growth and Development

Halie Tabor and Hannah Ball – 3rd place Health Career Display


We had the following place in the Top 5 of their event:

Amelia Barr – Extemporaneous Writing

Lyndsey Armes – Medical Math

Sydney Rofkahr – Transcultural Health

Drew Hinton, Courtni Metcalfe, and Autumn Wilson – Creative Problem Solving

Lindsey Winarski, Tiffany Chaney, and Abby Tivitt – Biomedical Debate


Our Hancock County Satellite Campus also competed at the HOSA state leadership conference and did well! Here is a list of their winners:

Sarah Hinton - 1st place Dental Terminology

Kaylah Hall & Chelsea Early - 1st place Health Education

Lauren Jackley - 3rd place Extemporaneous Health Poster

Kady Turner - 3rd place Interviewing Skills

Ashton Howton - Job Seeking Skills

In closing, our HOSA students, Mrs. Shartzer, and Mrs. Stephens are amazing and the work they do here in our building is something for all of us to brag about, however we couldn’t do it without the support of our community. We all would like to thank everyone for their continued support and encouragement.
